Single-work registration for fiction or non-fiction prose.
When to use this template: Use when registering a complete novel, novella, short story collection, or non-fiction book. The Standard Application form is the most flexible and works for both published and unpublished single-author literary works.

For unpublished works: - One complete copy of the work in its current state. ## Notes - Single Application fee: $45 (single author, single work, claimant is the author, not work-for-hire). - Standard Application fee: $65. - Registration must precede infringement (or be within 3 months of first publication) to claim statutory damages and attorney fees.
