Wyoming expungement of adult records is governed by Wyo. Stat. 7-13-1401 through 7-13-1404 (misdemeanor and certain felony expungement) and related provisions covering arrest records. The statute establishes petition-based pathways with offense-specific waiting periods. The statute provides waiting periods of five years for misdemeanor expungement and ten years for eligible felony expungement after completion of sentence and discharge from supervision; violent felonies as defined in 6-1-104(a)(xii), sex offenses, and felonies involving the use of a firearm are excluded. The petition is filed in the district court of the county of conviction with notice to the prosecuting attorney.
Eligibility, waiting periods, and the petition vs. automatic pathway depend on the conviction class and the date of the offense. Confirm with counsel or the court record.
